"Taylor Swift songs are meant to be sung aloud in the shower, danced around to in the middle of the street and cried to when you’re home alone with nothing but chocolate ice cream. But above all else, they’re supposed to speak to you.

”I don’t know how a guy is supposed to walk next to his girlfriend when there are 20 men with cameras, and he can’t protect his girlfriend because that’s the life she chose. I just don’t see how it could work, so I don’t think about it, and I kind of run from it when it presents itself. ‘Cause I don’t think any guy really… They think that they would want to get to know me, and maybe date me, but I don’t think they want what comes with it.”

You and I both know there’s got to be some greater storyline for you than ‘girl gets heart broken, was sad forever.’ I think a nice one would be ‘girl gets heart broken, was sad for a while but in her heartbreak she found freedom, friends, and the ability to look back and laugh at all she’d learned. She now lives her life on her own terms and still has fantastic hair.

Sparks Fly (old version)

taylor-swift-acoustic-live:

Ok, so anon pointed out this one was missing. So this is “Sparks Fly”, live, as recorded in 2007. Taylor planed to include this on Fearless, but for some reason it got cut off from the tracklist (maybe for “Forever and Always”, since that was added last minute?). Due to the fans love for this recording, the song ended up being included in Speak Now and it was later released as a single :)

I love love love this version and I really hope someday Taylor will include the original country demo on some kind of collectors release/greatest hits/singles collection…

"The only thing that I saw was incredible acclaim and praise and that’s just me going off of what I’m plugged into which is my fan base of real girls out in the world living their lives and when they saw their favorite actress get up in front of the UN and say what she said, I wish when I was younger, I wish when I was 12 years old I’d been able to watch a video of my favorite actress explaining in such an intellectual, beautiful, poignant way the definition of feminism because I would’ve understood it and then earlier on in my life I would’ve proudly claimed that I was a feminist because I would’ve understood what the word means. So many girls out there say “I’m not a feminist” cause they think it means something angry or disgruntled or complaining. They picture like rioting and picketing, it is not that at all, it just simply means that you believe that women and men should have equal rights and opportunities and to say that you’re not a feminist means that you think men should have more rights and opportunities than women. I just think a lot of girls don’t know the definition and the fact that Emma got up and explained it is I think an incredible thing and I’m happy to live in a world where that happened."

"Honestly, I think that I cheer on anybody who is living their life on their own terms and wearing what they want to wear and representing what they want to represent. I think that no other female artist should be able to tell me to wear less clothes and I’m not gonna tell any other female artist to wear more clothes. You know what I’m saying? As long as it’s their idea, and they’re expressing their sexuality or they’re expressing their strength or it makes them feel like a woman to perform a certain way or dress a certain way. I just think that as long as it’s coming from them and they’re living their life on their own terms, I cheer them on. Honestly."
